DYI ADT Pulse Add-On . . . How to install and some additional product info I wanted to automate the door locks in the house to be part of our ADT Pulse home automation system and my biggest interest was being able to see if a door is open or closed from my iPhone. My concern was finding the right model that would be compatible with my existing system. The reason I picked this model to start with was the fact it was compatible with ADT Pulse AND we already had Scalage locks on our house.

Worked like a charm, but firmware needed updated I negligently left the key inside the locked room and the nexia web page told me I needed to do an update. So like a good IT person, I updated it, aaaand it bricked. Electronics were seized up. Oh, did I do the update with the door open? Oh hell no – that would make too much sense. $130 later, a locksmith opened it up. He said “Oh, this is a Schlage High Security lock.” Took him 2 minutes to open with a rake and torsion wrench you can buy on Amazon for $25.

Couldn’t Be Happier – Works with IRIS v2 I ordered this older version of a Schlage lock to go with my IRIS (from Lowe’s) system, simply because I was on a budget and really wanted a Z-wave lock but didn’t want to pay the full $199 price tag of the newer ones (it was $150 when I ordered). True, I gave up the ability to rekey it myself, but other than that I couldn’t have been happier.
