STAY AWAY! Physical installation of the lock went fine, then everything went downhill. Just a quick fyi for people that are concerned over privacy. You have to make an account with kwikset in order to use any features of the lock besides the physical key. In order to do that you must download an app to your phone, they then ask for your name, email, phone number, and the GPS coords of your home…The real problems with this lock arose after making my account and trying to get the…

Best Smart Lock Great product. I was able to install it in less than 15 minutes. It’s a sleek design and it looks great on the door. It was easy to setup an account and get the lock connected to my Wifi. The Kwikset App is really simple and intuitive. It’s great to be able to control my lock remotely using Wifi without having to get an additional controller to make everything work. I was also able to setup additional user access codes for my family and schedule the housekeeper code to only work on Tues…

WiFi direct is the way to go So far so great. App works and commands work well through Alexa. Unless I’m missing it, I wish there was an ability to schedule (auto-lock) at a set time each night but perhaps that will come in a future app release. I replaced my Kwikset Premise locks with these and am pleased thus far. What is great is that the Kwikset Halo locks connect directly to WiFi rather than using a middle-type bridge or protocol (e.g. Zwave, ZigBee, etc.).
