No more carrying keys or remotes. Add this keypad and your key becomes a one- to six-digit code you carry in your head. Product Features Open the garage without a remote or without walking through the house You set the code yourself in three easy steps Works with all garage door openers
Works great! I’ve owned and used one for about 10 years and am buying a replacement because our cover broke off (Maybe this should be 4 stars, but after 10 years I’m pretty satisfied.)Installation takes a while as you have to run a 2 conductor wire from the control unit (on the inside garage wall not far from the keypad)to the control/motor unit for the door. If you want to do a neat job, that means ladders, working overhead, and stapling wire to the ceiling/walls.
Works great – might be a challenging installation Works well. You have few options if you have a really old garage door opener. Mine is at least 25 years old. I called the opener manufacturer and they told me that I could only use a wired keypad. They recommended the Genie KEP-1, but a number of reviewers said they had durability problems, so I went with this one. Works fine. The challenge is drilling the hole between the keypad and the control unit. The wire has a little plug (much like a telephone plug) on the end, so you need a 1/2″…
Beware it is battery operated It seems to be a well constructed unit. I would have given it 5 stars had it not been battery operated.
